A little courage to get this blog started

Courage little one.

You've got it and you don't even know it. For me, it's as clear as day to see: your keen determination in working toward your first steps (plus whatever dance moves you throw in between), your wild curiosity in the world around you, and the fact that a couple of bumps and bruises won't get in the way of your goal - even if that goal is just to get your hands on a wood block. Courage is something that will get you far and serve you well, while making your way through the world and embracing both the good and bad it has to offer. Courage will get you there. But you have to put in the work - stay curious. Make a best friend on your first day of school. Explore. Get lost in a new city. Heck, get lost in a new continent. Do something out of your comfort zone. A lot.

And every step of the way, you'll find what courage gives you - a chance to know yourself better. A chance to change yourself for the good, little by little, every day. A chance to know what drives you forward in this world, to know what your passions are, and how far you're willing to push yourself to make your dreams come to life. Life is a pay to play system, and you'll find that nothing good is cheap. And a little courage, mixed with a dash determination and sprinkle of heart, can take you places you can't even imagine yet.

Because what I've learned from the world is this. You always have to be ready for adventures, because they will find you. And it's up to you how you handle them, whether you let them wreak havoc on your life and turn it upside down, or whether you embrace those experiences, learn from them, and take from them what you can. Your mama and I will be there to help you on your way, but it's your path, and we can't wait to watch it unfold.
